On behalf of Eaton’s Light Yacht Club, I would like to thank you for your interest in our Club. 

Membership in Eaton’s Light Yacht Club offers:

1. Invitations to social parties held at various homes in Eaton’s Neck, Northport, and Asharoken during the boating season, Northport YC dinner, plus our annual brunch at the “The View” at Crab Meadow Golf facility. Our social events are a great opportunity to see fellow members, share boating/racing cruising experiences, and deepen your relationships.

2. Weekly sailing (Tuesday evening Bay races) and several weekend Sound races. These are handicapped using PERF ratings so all sizes and designs can compete on the same level. Our racing is informal and really allows for honing your sailing skills and to get more use and enjoyment of your sailboat. There are also opportunities for crewing and ride-alongs if you don’t own a sailboat.

3. Use of club mooring in Lloyd Harbor for sail or power boats. 

4. Issuance of a club ID card that permits you to use the dining facilities of the Huntington Yacht Club, and other clubs that have offered reciprocity. 

5. Discounts at several area marine supply stores. 

6. Subscription to The Semaphore, our newsletter, to keep you informed of all Club events. It also includes invitations from other yacht clubs and boating organizations for safety and boating-related seminars. 

7. Inclusion in The Pilot, which contains member contact and boat information.

8. Use of the club burgee identifying you as a member of a recognized Yacht Club. ELYC is a member of the Greater Huntington Boating Council which works with local governments to promote our common interests. 

9. Social Media: We have a website, Facebook page and Instagram account

10. Since we run on a lean budget, we invite our members to volunteer to chair committees or to just help out in one or more of the activities that keep us afloat. Social: set-up, Clean-up, shopping. Social Media keeping our media presence up to date, Racing: keeping race statistics and awards  

Our low annual membership fees ($200 plus a one-time-only initiation fee of $75) include all activities that ELYC has to offer. 

Our initiation fee covers the cost of our Welcome Aboard package (burgee, 2 hats, membership roster booklet, etc). 

To join, fill out our ELYC Membership Application Form, and send it to us via email or US mail. This is the first step in joining the club. Our membership committee meets monthly and will contact you shortly thereafter.
